Miakka is an elite private club in Myakka City, Florida being developed by entrepreneur Steve Herrig of Bradenton, Florida. It is located on 1,100 acres along the banks of the Myakka River. The club will include an 18-hole championship golf course co-designed by Fry/Straka Global Golf Design and PGA TOUR Player Paul Azinger. The Club will not have any homes on the golf course but is adjacent to The Estates at TerraNova and TerraNova Equestrian Center both part of Herrig’s portfolio.
In addition to the golf course, a very select group of local and national members will enjoy a 12-hole par 3 course, a short game facility, performance center and a 360 degree range all complimented by a rustically elegant clubhouse and member cabins. The 18-hole course, the range, 2 comfort stations, The Still (an interim clubhouse located on the 40 acre irrigation lake) along with three initial member cabins are anticipated to open late 2025.
Bauer Voss Consulting has been instrumental in developing the elite membership program along with the membership amenities that will establish Miakka Golf Club as one of the top clubs in America. Erik Whitehead is serving as Membership Director for the club and is instrumental in introducing the best candidates for membership to owner Steve Herrig. All must be referred and vetted prior to receiving an invitation to join. Gerry O’Callaghan, COO/GM was brought on early to ensure that all club amenities and levels of service will exceed Mr. Herrig’s expectations.
